It is very unlikely that anyone will become your customer on their first visit to your website. If you are an on-line retailer most visitors will be looking around other websites for similar products. If you offer a service it is likely to be a considered purchase that the visitor will want to ‘think about’.
Think about ways you can package your offer to make it as easy as possible to buy from you and/or to provide extra value. The ability to save items in a shopping cart, the offer of free articles or a newsletter sign up are examples of this.
Also think how these offers can be used off-line to attract people to your website. The opportunity to download a vidicast of a champion surfer or a free report that will save you £hundreds in tax might work for you.
